Camp Cloakwood

This was a fictional client project from School of Motion's course Illustration for Motion. The brief was to storyboard a 30-second spot promoting an summer camp for adults, themed around wizards and witches. The direction called for it to be light-hearted and fun, but still have slightly eerie and mischievous elements.

I decided to go for a concept based inside a spell book. We follow a single character through the pages as he gets into hijinks doing all the activities mentioned in the VO. At the end, it cuts back to the modern world where he grabs the book on his way to attend the camp.

I had a lot of fun with this project, and in particular loved adding all of the little details - writing the text, doing the diagrams, and weaving in little jokes and references.
